The International Lawyers Club UK (ILCUK) hosted a distinguished meeting and dinner in honour of Rana Intezar Hussain Advocate, Former President Lahore Bar Association and Member Punjab Bar Council, and Ch Asim Iqbal Deo Advocate, Former President Sialkot Bar Association, along with other respected dignitaries from the legal fraternity. The event was held at Iman Restaurant, Ilford, Essex.
During the gathering, ILCUK Chairman Barrister Imran Panaawala and General Secretary Barrister Mushtaq Choudhary formally announced the appointment of Rana Intezar Hussain Advocate as Head of the ILCUK Punjab (Pakistan) Chapter, with immediate effect.
The meeting focused on critical legal themes, including the Rule of Law and Independence of the Judiciary in Pakistan. Key discussions also addressed strengthening coordination between lawyers in the United Kingdom and Pakistan, as well as examining international legal dimensions of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), with the aim of effectively promoting Pakistan’s legal position on the treaty.
The event featured contributions from prominent speakers, including ILCUK Founding Chairman Barrister Ch. Rizwan Sulehria, Former Chairman and Head of International Affairs Barrister Ghulam Mustafa Khawaja, Former Chairman and Treasurer Ch. Hafiz Abdul Ghani, Former Chairman and Advisor to the Chairman Solicitor Moazzam Ali Sandhu, Vice President Solicitor Muhammad Shoaib Butal, and Head of Membership Committee Advocate Mian Manzoor Hussain. Additional speakers included Solicitor Muhammad Shafeeq, Advocate Javed Awan, Barrister Mukhtar Tatari, and Ch Asim Iqbal Deo Advocate.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the General Secretary, followed by dinner.
This gathering reflects ILCUK’s continued commitment to promoting the Rule of Law, safeguarding the Independence of the Judiciary, advocating Pakistan’s stance on the Indus Waters Treaty, and supporting the welfare of lawyers beyond borders.
